The beef dishes around the area, especially at The Marine Restaurant, were top-notch. Room 9 was modern as ever too, making the stay rather comfortable.
The evening menu left a bit to be desired—just not enough variety. Breakfast was hit and miss, and the staff seemed a tad overwhelmed. A bit pricier than the quality delivered.

I loved my stay here, especially the cozy Double Room with views over the harbour and the lovely evenings spent listening to the calming water sounds. It was fantastic to unwind with some beach access and enjoy local live music nearby. The shower could have used a bit more power, but that didn’t take away from the charm of my visit! 😊

Charming stay by the water
Loved the cute decor and how close it was to everything! The location's a win since you're right on the water. The bathroom's a huge plus – I mean, the walk-in shower was awesome, even though it kinda overshadowed the tiny bedroom. The bar area was cozy, too. Just wish the room was a bit bigger!

Unique stay with a sea view
We had a fab time! The room was super cool with a bath right in there. Totally loved the decor. Access from the quay was a breeze, and the location's killer, just steps from that cobbled street. Only bummer was the noise from the pub nearby, but it didn’t ruin our vibe. The bar area was chill too!

Cute spot with awesome vibes
We had a lovely night here! The decor is super charming and the location can't be beaten—right by the water and close to everything. The bathroom was massive, almost too big compared to our small room! The bar area was chill, but it would've been nice to have more drink options. All in all, a great stay!

had a lovely stay at duke of york. the superior double room was clean n cosy, with a hot bath that was perfect for a soak. the views of the estuary n whitby were amazing! the bed was super comfy, just felt a bit small. breakfast was fab too!
the only downside was the noise from the bar outside and we wished for some bath robes n slippers, esp by the beach.

The room was impeccably clean and offered stunning views over the harbour. The staff were extremely friendly and made us feel welcome. Breakfast was a highlight—cooked to perfection and enjoyed in a quiet setting. being above the bar meant some noise during busy hours, which may disrupt lighter sleepers.

Had an awesome time enjoying the beautiful sea view from our cozy room and loved the comfy bed that made for a great night’s sleep. The sandy beach was only a short walk away and we relaxed by the pool with some delicious drinks. Only downside was that the Wi-Fi could be a bit spotty, but overall, we really loved our stay! 😊

Small double room offers a cozy space perfect for couples, featuring a hearty warm ambiance that adds charm. The sea view from some rooms provides a picturesque scene, especially during sunrise.
Staying in room 8 made for a restless night due to noise from an office across the hall, with slamming doors and lively conversations keeping us awake until after 12:30 AM. The food left much to be desired. the breakfast was poorly cooked, and the evening meal felt more like reheated leftovers rather than something freshly made. our room wasn't serviced on the second day, which dampened the overall experience.

A delightful stay with my elderly dog in an immaculate double room featuring a breathtaking view. The friendly staff made the experience even more special, and breakfast was a treat. Proximity to the dog-friendly beach was a significant bonus, along with the convenience of nearby shops and tearooms. This location is truly central, making it easy to explore.
